Mariah Carey Makes Nick Cannon Cry

by Jake

Mariah Carey
…or at least her upcoming film “Precious” does.

Nick Cannon has revealed that he found his wife’s performance in her new movie so moving that it brought him to tears. We can’t help but wonder if he was crying because Carey was so awesome in the film or because he was overwhelmed with joy that his wife doesn’t really have a moustache in real life.

Speaking to MTV News on the red carpet
at the film’s L.A. premiere, Cannon said, “I mean, the performance was phenomenal – clearly one of the best.”

Cannon also revealed that it was difficult for Mariah Carey to unwind from her days working on “Precious,” as the subject matter was so heavy, to say the least. “Precious” follows the story of a teenage girl who has been emotionally and physically abused her whole life, and forced to have an incestuous relationship with her father. (The preview alone makes us want to hurl ourselves off a building.)

Said Cannon, “Every person can take something away from this. It was a heavy role – to come down from that you have to stop yourself. And stop yourself again.” As for all those tears he’s shedding, Cannon explained, “I didn’t read the script, but the movie made me cry. I think it’s, like, my fifth time. It gets better every time.”

But the premiere wasn’t all tears and incest talk. Mariah added some levity to Sunday night’s event, talking about how she was made hideous for her role as a social worker in the film. Speaking to Usmagazine.com Carey said, “It wasn’t just de-glamorized. They added some hideousness on top of that too. I drank some ugly juice.”

We guess that even when dealing with the heaviness of the subject matter, Mariah Carey didn’t forget than in real life, she’s used to looking like an absolute diva.
